Filtres à huile pour homogénéisateurs : pourquoi il est important de les remplacer régulièrement

18 juin 2026Par Michel Sanchez

Oil filtration is one of the simplest and most cost-effective maintenance tasks on a homogenizer — yet also one of the most frequently neglected. At BOS Homogenisers, we regularly see machines where drive system damage could have been avoided entirely with a timely filter change.

The Role of Oil in a Homogenizer

  1. Lubrication — maintaining a hydrodynamic film between moving surfaces.
  2. Cooling — carrying heat away from high-friction contact points.
  3. Cleaning — suspending and transporting wear particles away from precision surfaces.
  4. Protection — coating internal surfaces with a thin film that resists corrosion.

What Contaminates Homogenizer Oil?

Metallic wear particles, moisture, thermal degradation products, and external contaminants all affect oil quality. See our page on the working principle of homogenizers.

Types of Oil Filters

Full-flow spin-on filters, cartridge filters, suction strainers, and magnetic plugs and traps.

Recommended Replacement Intervals

ConditionRecommended Interval
Normal operating conditionsEvery 1,000–2,000 operating hours
Harsh environmentsEvery 500–1,000 operating hours
After any drive system repairImmediately
Differential pressure indicator triggeredImmediately

Oil Analysis: Your Early Warning System

Oil analysis reveals wear metals, contamination, oil condition, and particle count. We recommend sampling every 500 operating hours.
